Note from the Author
"I first discovered acupuncture and holistic medicine during my final years at Cambridge
University Veterinary School, when I visted the US to observe work at a veterinary practise
specializing in veterinary homeopathy, acupuncture and chiropractic.
I was excited to see the
new options that these holistic modalities provided, in particular the benefits they could
have for animals with conditions that are not adequately treated by conventional medicine, and
decided that holistic medicine was the area of veterinary practise I wished to dedicate my career to.
As a veterinarian who cares deeply about animals, I find it incredibly rewarding to
help dogs, cats, horses and other
animals which modern medicine has given up on. Many of my patients are modern
medicine's failures, and despite treatment are still sick or in pain. It's great to
see these animals, previously suffering from pain or side effects from medications,
often dramatically improve with acupuncture treatment.
I have written these eBooks as I am passionate about teaching about veterinary acupuncture
and its benefits, so that more owners can become aware of the effectiveness of veterinary
acupuncture, and more animals can benefit from it earlier, instead of waiting for years to
try it as a 'last chance' effort, more from desperation than hope.
Since I have a background
in conventional medicine and modern drug use, as well as advanced training and certification
in acupuncture, Chinese medical diagnosis and treatment, I am ideally placed to analyze
acupuncture and how it can be integrated into conventional medical treatment.
I hope these eBooks will inform you about acupuncture so you can assess the options available
for your animal's medical care and ensure that he or she will not miss out on
acupuncture's benefits."
